Kommunistisk Parti fordømmer på det kraftigste det USA-støttede israelske krigsangreb mod Iran. Dette seneste anngreb var fuldstændig uprovokeret og udgør et brud på international lov. Alligevel valgte danske medier at fremstille Irans fuldt lovlige svar – i henhold til FN’s charter artikel 51 – som en “eskalering”.
Krigen mod Iran er endnu et led i den vestlige imperialismes strategi for at svække de kræfter, der står i vejen for deres dominans i Mellemøsten. Iran har spillet en central rolle i støtten til den palæstinensiske befrielseskamp. Landets modstand mod zionisme og imperialisme har gjort Iran til et hovedmål for både USA og Israel.
Israels angreb er et direkte udtryk for den eskalationspolitik, som både Israel og USA længe har ført i forsøget på at fastholde deres regionale og globale magtpositioner. Israel handler ud fra en ekspansionistisk logik, rodfæstet i bosætterkolonialisme og visionen om et “Stor-Israel”, mens USA betragter Israel som et strategisk bolværk – et “usænkeligt hangarskib” – for sine geopolitiske og økonomiske interesser i regionen.
Kommunistisk Parti advarer kraftigt mod risikoen for, at konflikten udvikler sig til en åben regional krig med potentiale for at trække andre stater ind og udvikle sig til en global krise. En sådan udvikling vil være katastrofal for verdens arbejdende befolkninger.
Alt for længe har Israel ageret straffrit – begået likvideringer, udført statsterror og praktiseret folkemord, alt imens Vesten enten har set passivt til eller aktivt medvirket. Det må have en ende. Den danske regering må aktivt tage stilling mod Israels aggression og stoppe for al samhandel, stop for militær og økonomisk støtte samt hjemkaldelse af ambassadører og kræve ophævelse af EU’s associeringsaftale.
Den danske mediedækning har været en skændsel i dens forsøg på at fremstille Iran som aggressoren. Det afslører Danmarks aktive rolle i den vestlige imperialismes strategi om regimeskifte i Iran. Overholdelse af international lov – FN’s charter – spiller ingen rolle i dette tilfælde.
Samtidig ignorerer og nedtoner medierne Israels rolle i konflikten. Israel er den eneste magt i regionen, der besidder atomvåben, og landet har konsekvent nægtet at lade sig inspicere eller indgå i internationale traktater om nedrustning. Dette er tabu i de vestlige medier. I stedet fremstilles Iran – et land, der ikke har invaderet nogen nation i over 200 år – som en “slyngelstat”, mens Israel – som har angrebet seks lande alene det seneste år – fritages for kritik.
Hver eneste anklage mod Iran er i virkeligheden en tilståelse af USA’s og Israels egen praksis og skyld: Fra finansiering af terror og statssanktionerede mord i udlandet til drab på civile. Israels efterretningstjeneste Mossad opererer aktivt i Iran og har udført adskillige angreb – dette er statsstøttet terrorisme og bør fordømmes som sådan.
De samme folkedrabsmetoder, som Israel anvender i Palæstina, er nu igen i spil i Iran – herunder bombning af vandforsyninger, hospitaler og drab af journalister.
Undskyldningen for at udløse denne krig er, at Iran er ved at udvikle en atombombe. Faktum er, at vestlige efterretningstjenester, politikere og medier i årtier har hævdet, at Iran er få skridt fra at udvikle atomvåben. Første gang denne påstand blev fremsat var i 1995 – og efter 30 års gentagne fejlvurderinger har medierne endnu ikke revurderet denne løgn. Tværtimod fortsætter de med at puste til fortællingen for at retfærdiggøre endnu en krig i Mellemøsten med regimeforandring og opsplitning som mål.
Det var USA, der ensidigt rev den internationale atomaftale med Iran i stykker – en aftale, som både USA, dets europæiske allierede og Iran havde underskrevet. Hvis målet virkelig var at forhindre Iran i at udvikle atomvåben, ville aftalen ikke være blevet opgivet. Men fordi aftalen ikke understøttede Vestens reelle mål om regimeskifte, blev den kasseret. Medierne udelader konsekvent Irans vilje til forhandling og USA’s og Israels sabotage af enhver diplomatisk løsning – og fokuserer udelukkende på Irans reaktioner på aggression. De vestlige medier ser ikke på årsagen, kun på konsekvenserne – og i den proces skabes den folkelige accept af en konflikt med globale konsekvenser.
Kommunistisk Parti opfordrer til bred folkelig modstand mod enhver dansk deltagelse i den militære, økonomiske eller politiske isolation af Iran.
Vi udtrykker vores fulde solidaritet med det iranske folk. Ligesom i Irak, Afghanistan og Libyen vil vestlig intervention kun medføre død og ødelæggelse. Den iranske befolknings kamp mod zionisme og imperialisme er en integreret del af den globale modstand, som vi må støtte helhjertet.
Stop Israel’s war against Iran
The Danish Communist Party strongly condemns the US-backed Israeli war on Iran. This latest attack was completely unprovoked and a violation of international law. Nevertheless, the Danish media chose to portray Iran’s fully legitimate response – in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter – as an “escalation”.
The attack is yet another step in Western imperialism’s strategy to weaken the forces that stand in the way of their dominance in the Middle East. Iran has played a central role in supporting the Palestinian liberation struggle. The country’s opposition to Zionism and imperialism has made Iran a prime target for both the US and Israel.
The attack is a direct expression of the escalation policy that both Israel and the US have long pursued in an attempt to maintain their regional and global positions of power. Israel acts out of an expansionist logic rooted in settler colonialism and the vision of a “Greater Israel,” while the United States regards Israel as a strategic bulwark – an “unsinkable aircraft carrier” – for its geopolitical and economic interests in the region.
The Danish Communist Party strongly warns against the risk of the conflict developing into an open regional war with the potential to draw in other states and develop into a global crisis. Such a development would be catastrophic for the working people of the world.
For far too long, Israel has acted with impunity – committing assassinations, carrying out state terrorism and practising genocide, while the West has either looked on passively or actively participated. This must end. The Danish government must actively take a stand against Israel’s aggression and stop all trade, military and economic support, recall its ambassadors and demand the termination of the EU’s association agreement.
The Danish media coverage has been a disgrace in its attempt to portray Iran as the aggressor. It reveals Denmark’s active role in Western imperialism’s strategy for regime change in Iran. Compliance with international law – the UN Charter – plays no role in this case.
At the same time, the media ignores and downplays Israel’s role in the conflict. Israel is the only power in the region that possesses nuclear weapons, and the country has consistently refused to allow inspections or to enter into international treaties on disarmament. This is taboo in the Western media. Instead, Iran – a country that has not invaded another nation in over 200 years – is portrayed as a “rogue state”, while Israel – which has attacked six countries in the last year alone – is exempt from criticism.
Every single accusation against Iran is in fact an admission of the practices and guilt of the United States and Israel: from financing terrorism and state-sanctioned assassinations abroad to the killing of civilians. Israel’s intelligence service, Mossad, operates actively in Iran and has carried out numerous attacks – this is state-sponsored terrorism and should be condemned as such.
The same methods of genocide that Israel uses in Palestine are now again being used in Iran – including the bombing of water supplies, hospitals and the killing of journalists.
The excuse for unleashing this war is that Iran is developing a nuclear bomb. The fact is that Western intelligence services, politicians and the media have been claiming for decades that Iran is just a few steps away from developing nuclear weapons. This claim was first made in 1995 – and after 30 years of repeated misjudgements, the media has yet to reconsider this lie. On the contrary, they continue to fuel the narrative to justify yet another war in the Middle East with regime change and balkanization as its goal.
It was the United States that unilaterally tore up the international nuclear agreement with Iran – an agreement that had been signed by the United States, its European allies and Iran. If the goal was really to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, the agreement would not have been abandoned. But because the agreement did not support the West’s real goal of regime change, it was discarded. The media consistently omits Iran’s willingness to negotiate and the sabotage by the US and Israel of any diplomatic solution – and focuses exclusively on Iran’s reactions to aggression. The Western media does not look at the cause, only at the consequences – and in the process creates popular acceptance of a conflict with global consequences.
The Danish Communist Party calls for broad popular resistance to any Danish participation in the military, economic or political isolation of Iran.
We express our full solidarity with the Iranian people. As in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, Western intervention will only bring death and destruction. The Iranian people’s struggle against Zionism and imperialism is an integral part of the global resistance that we must support wholeheartedly.
